This is the revolutionary Training System exclusively created
and used by our instructors for all of our courses.
D.R.O.P stands for "Diving Reflex Osmotic Performance",
the principle behind the training system that our instructors
have used to create multiple World Champions and to train
each and every one of our students. The Diving Reflex is a
set of physiological changes and adaptations that all mammals,
most notably dolphins, whales, seals and penguins but also
human beings, exhibit when put under apnea diving conditions.
It is this diving reflex that allows world champions to survive
the extreme dives they perform as well as the animals mentioned
above to reach depths in excess of 2000 meters/6560 feet and
dive times over 2 hours! And remember, they have lungs just
like us and hold their breaths when they dive. Based on that
premise, Instructor Trainer Rudi Castineyra developed a training
method whose main goal was to "awaken" these aquatic
capabilities possessed by all human beings and to refine them
to the highest level. At the same time, convinced that freediving
should be treated as a high-performance sport with very specific
physical conditioning demands, Rudi designed a set of exercises
and training routines that would maximize the muscular development
and performance capabilities required exclusively for freediving.
This is the core of the D.R.O.P system, which is very similar
to the cellular exchange process of Osmosis. The enhancement
of the diving reflex response is like the main membrane that
surrounds the cell, and the specialized physical training
is the nucleus inside that membrane that allows it to work
properly. This combination provides the fastest, safest and
most effective way of maximizing freediving performance. The
system has been constantly improved through many years of
research and thousands of dives and its effectiveness is best
proven by the 4 world champions that have set 15 world records
using D.R.O.P, as well as the hundreds of satisfied students
we have around the world.
